🪔Birth Story of Lord Hanuman 🪔
Lord Hanuman is one of the most revered deities in Sanatan Dharma. Unlike other gods who have a single birthday, there are two significant dates associated with Hanuman Ji:
Kartik Krishna Chaturdashi
Chaitra Shukla Purnima
🪔The first marks his birth, while the second celebrates his victory and honor. According to the scripture Utsavasindhu, Hanuman Ji was born on a Tuesday during Swati Nakshatra and Mesha Lagna from Mother Anjani’s womb, as an incarnation of Lord Rudra (Shiva).
🪔The Hanumadupasana Kalpadrum mentions his birth on Chaitra Shukla Purnima, adorned with a musta grass waistcloth, sacred thread (Yajnopavit), and other traditional ornaments. It is also narrated that Hanuman Ji emerged from Anjani’s womb after she consumed yajna kheer delivered by a kite sent by Kaikeyi.
🪔According to the Valmiki Ramayana (Kishkindha Kanda, Sarga 66 & Uttarakanda, Sarga 35} the infant Hanuman leapt towards the Sun thinking it was a fruit. Rahu tried to swallow him, but mistaking him for the Sun, Rahu fled. Then Indra struck Hanuman Ji with his Vajra, causing his jaw to become slightly crooked, hence the name Hanuman.
🪔Blessings of Vayu Dev:
Kesari, a king of Mount Sumeru, had a beautiful wife Anjani. During a holy bath, Vayu Dev (Wind God) entered her ear, blessing her that her son would be brilliant like the Sun, Fire, and Gold, wise, omniscient, powerful, and a mighty warrior.
🪔Divine Boons from Gods:
To punish Indra for striking him, Vayu Dev stopped air circulation, prompting all gods to grant Hanuman Ji boons. Hence, no weapon or astras can harm him, even the most powerful Brahmastra.
Treasures of Hanuman Ji:
Hanuman Ji is immortal, present in Satya, Treta, Dvapara, and Kali Yugas, and is very dear to Lord Rama.
Ashta Siddhi (Eight Powers): Adhima, Mahima, Garima, Laghima, Prapti, Prakamya, Ishitwa, Vashitwa — he has full control over them.
Nava Nidhi (Nine Treasures): Padma, Mahapadma, Neel, Mukund, Nand, Makar, Kachhap, Shankh, Kharva — all are under his possession.
