King Pandu was cursed by sage Kindama and was unable to have children.
Kunti had received a divine boon that allowed her to invoke the gods.

Kunti invoked Lord Indra, and from his divine energy Arjuna was born.

That is why Arjuna is considered the son of Lord Indra.
From birth itself, he possessed valor, brilliance, and righteousness.

Arjuna learned the science of weapons from Acharya Dronacharya.
