Devarshi Narad Ji is one of the most revered, famous, and divine sages in Sanatan Dharma.
He was trikaldarshi (seer of past, present, and future), Brahmarshi, and a supreme devotee of
Lord Vishnu. His mouth always chanted the holy words “Narayan–Narayan”.
Narad Ji roamed freely among gods, humans, and demons, spreading devotion, knowledge, and
dharma.
According to the scriptures, Narad Ji was born from the lap of Prajapati Brahma (Utsangan- narado Jajñe).
When Brahma ordered him to expand creation, Narad Ji replied:
“Who would leave the service of Lord Vishnu, dearer than nectar, to drink the poison of worldly desires?”
Brahma, angered, cursed him:
“By my curse, your knowledge will be lost. You will marry fifty daughters and be known as Upabharan.
Later, by my curse, you will be born as the son of a servant woman. Yet by the grace of the Lord, you will attain the form of my son.”
Because of Brahma’s curse, Upabharan became a Gandharva and married fifty daughters of
Chitrarath.Through yogic practice, he left his Gandharva body to be born as Dasi Putra, son of
Kalavati, wife of Drumil Gop.After Drumil Gop passed away, Narad Ji served a virtuous Brahmin
along with his mother, eating leftovers from utensils, purifying his mind, and developing devotion to
God.
Narad Ji told Vyasa Ji:
“I spent Chaturmas among saints, serving Brahmins with my mother. The saints instructed
me in Rupa-Dhyana and Naam Japa.”
Soon after, his mother died from a snake bite.
Narad Ji meditated under a Peepal tree. The Lord appeared like lightning in his heart, saying:
“In this birth, you will not see Me fully.”
Thereafter, Narad Ji wandered praising God and, in the next kalpa, was born as Brahma’s son.
Narad Ji guided Dhruva and Prahlad, helping them conquer Maya and achieve supreme spiritual
positions. He became a model of devotion and wisdom for children and devotees.
Serving Bhakti Devi and her two sons, Knowledge and Renunciation, Narad Ji made a vow in
Vrindavan:
“O Bhakti Devi! There is no other age like Kali Yuga.
If I do not establish your presence in every home, I shall not be called Haridas.
Bhakti Devi blessed him:
“O Devarshi, you are blessed. By your guidance, Dhruva and Prahlad conquered Maya and
attained the Brahma position.”

Even Dhruva attained his supreme spiritual position through His grace.
I bow to the son of Brahma, capable of guiding all beings.
Devarshi Narad Ji is a master of Vedanta, Yoga, Astrology, Music, and Devotion.
His life teaches that true devotion, knowledge, and service make human life meaningful.
Narayan–Narayan 🙏
