🪔🌸 Karmabai -The Loving Elderly Woman of Jagannath Puri 🌸🪔
🌸 Karmabai - The Loving Old Woman 🌸
An elderly woman named Karmabai lived in Nilanchal, Jagannath Puri, full of love and motherly affection.
Every day she offered khichdi to Thakur Ji, who joyfully ate from her lap, though she cooked without bathing. 🌸
🌸 The Sadhu’s Advice 🌸
One day a sadhu told her she should purify herself before offering food to Thakur Ji.
From that day, khichdi was delayed, and Karmabai worried, thinking her beloved child might be hungry. 🌸
🌸 Karmabai’s Sorrow 🌸
Karmabai sorrowfully served the khichdi, and at the same time in the Jagannath temple, priests noticed khichdi on Lord Jagannath’s mouth.
The priests asked the Lord, and He said He always loves eating Karmabai’s khichdi and today came quickly because of their call. 🌸
🌸 The Sadhu’s Correction 🌸
Hearing this, the priests found the sadhu and told him to let Karmabai serve as before, without needing ritual bathing.
From that day, Karmabai again fed Thakur Ji lovingly from her lap without bath, and her devotion became legendary. 🌸
🌸 The Power of Devotion 🌸
Such true devotion manifests the Lord in child form, and even today, Jagannath Dham continues the tradition of offering khichdi every morning. 🌸
