Lord Prithu: A Vishnu Avatar

King Vena's tyrannical rule causing suffering among the people and the decline of Dharma in the kingdom.

🌿✨ The Divine Story of Lord Prithu ✨🌿

🕉️ 1. Rise of Adharma and Fall of King Vena (Emotion: Anger & Concern)

King Aṅga’s wife, Sunīthā, who was the daughter of Death, gave birth to a son named Vena. Because of his evil nature, he completely rejected righteousness and became cruel and arrogant.

Unable to tolerate his misrule, King Aṅga left the kingdom and went to the forest. The entire kingdom fell into darkness.

The sages were filled with compassion and concern—if there is no king, what will happen to the people? So, they made Vena the king, but he became even more unrighteous.

Finally, through the collective spiritual power and anger of the sages, Vena was destroyed.

🌾 2. Emergence of Nishada and Divine Manifestation of Prithu (Emotion: Wonder & Divinity)

With no ruler left, chaos spread in the kingdom. The sages churned the body of King Vena.

From his thighs emerged a deformed being, who became known as Nishada when told “Nishida” (sit down).

Then suddenly, a divine light spread ✨
From Vena’s arms appeared a celestial couple—King Prithu and Queen Archi.

The sages were filled with awe and reverence, realizing this was no ordinary birth—Lord Vishnu Himself had incarnated as Prithu, and Goddess Lakshmi appeared as Archi.

👑 3. The Earth’s Sorrow and Prithu’s Righteous Wrath (Emotion: Compassion + Justice)

Due to Vena’s cruelty, Mother Earth had hidden all seeds, herbs, and grains within herself.

Even after Prithu became king, Earth refused to give crops. The people suffered from hunger and weakness.

Seeing this, King Prithu’s heart filled with compassionate anger:
“If the Earth does not give food, how will the people survive?”

He lifted his bow in determination. Fearfully, Earth took the form of a cow and ran away.

Eventually, she surrendered to him. This moment was filled with compassion and divine submission.

Prithu forgave her and lovingly “milked” the Earth, restoring all grains and life 🌾✨

🔥 4. Yajnas and Conflict with Indra (Emotion: Power & Ego Clash)

King Prithu completed 99 Ashwamedha Yajnas.

While the sages and gods were pleased, Indra became fearful and jealous of losing his position.

He began creating obstacles in the sacrifice. Prithu’s righteous anger rose again—but it was not ego, it was Dharma itself in action.

At that moment, Lord Brahma appeared and restored balance and peace.

🙏 5. Supreme Devotion and the Boon of Bhakti (Emotion: Pure Devotion)

Lord Vishnu appeared in divine radiance ✨
The entire atmosphere became filled with love and bliss.

When asked to choose a boon, Prithu said:

“I do not desire anything where the stories and glories of Your feet are not heard. Even liberation is worthless to me if it has no remembrance of You.”

Hearing this pure devotion, the Lord became extremely pleased.

🌸 6. Renunciation and Divine Liberation (Emotion: Peace & Detachment)

After ruling for many years, King Prithu renounced everything.

He went to the forest with Queen Archi and practiced deep meditation and devotion.

Finally, he merged into the divine Brahman ✨
And Archi also followed him, embracing divine union.

Only peace, light, and liberation remained 🌿

🌺 Final Verse 🌺

Rajavṛttiṁ rājā yaḥ sva-nāma saphalī-kṛtaḥ
Dudoh vasudhāṁ bījaṁ tasmai Śrī Pṛthave namaḥ

✨ Meaning:
Salutations to King Prithu, who fulfilled his name by protecting the Earth and nurturing life through righteousness.

Lord Prithu ruling with justice and Dharma, bringing prosperity, peace, and abundance to his kingdom.
